Air Astana Elevates Family Travel with Travel Tales Amenity Kits

This week, Air Astana announced a new kids’ amenity program called Travel Tales, designed to inspire their imaginations and make flying fun. Created in partnership with Buzz, it features three playful characters who take children on adventures around the world. The program launched in September 2025 on international flights over three hours.
Bringing Stories to the Sky
The Travel Tales program is built around three collectible animal characters, Mishka, Tana, and Zak; who take children on adventures around the globe. Their stories celebrate exploration while also showing pride in Kazakhstan.
Each character has a unique personality: Mishka loves finding tasty foods and shows kids the fun of trying new flavors. Tana cares about nature and teaches children to protect the planet. Zak is full of energy and helps the group explore the world together with excitement and teamwork.
Together, they inspire children to travel with curiosity and meaning. Through their adventures, children learn that travel is about discovery, kindness, and caring for the planet.

Something for Toddlers, Tweens and Teens
Recognizing that each stage of childhood brings different interests and needs, Air Astana developed Travel Tales for three distinct age groups. Each kit is designed to be age-appropriate in both style and content, creating experiences that resonate before, during, and after the flight.
For the young travelers aged three to six, the kits feature bright, fluffy designs of Mishka, Tana, and Zak as well as backpacks, pencil cases, activity booklets, and plush bag tags.
For children aged seven to 11, the kits take on a more modern and stylish look, appealing to their growing sense of independence. They include practical yet exciting items like crossbody bags, travel wallets, keyrings, and phone stands. Teens between the ages of 12 and 15 receive sleek, mature kits with graphic patterns in the characters’ signature colors. Each includes washbags, waist bags, and puzzles that mix creativity with real-world usefulness.
Building on a Legacy of Sustainability
Air Astana’s new Travel Tales kits build on the airline’s focus on kids and sustainability. In 2024, the airline teamed up with Watermark to launch eco-friendly kids’ kits based on the four elements: Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. Each bag and its contents were made to last for years, using recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) materials, along with recyclable water bottles and compostable packaging. The colorful kits helped children learn about the environment through fun and play, showing how nature connects to everyday life. The success of that program led to Travel Tales.

Sustainability is similarly at the heart of the Travel Tales amenity kits, showcasing Air Astana’s ongoing environmental commitments. According to Buzz, every detail of the program was developed with eco-friendly materials and mindful production methods.
The new collection includes recycled and recyclable materials such as rPET fabrics, cotton canvas, and recyclable paper. These choices help reduce waste and support Air Astana’s broader efforts to shrink its environmental footprint. Each product is also made with “keepsake value,” encouraging children to reuse the kits even after the flight.
Through Travel Tales, Air Astana is investing not only in passenger comfort but also in storytelling that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and care for the planet. By combining thoughtful design with sustainability and education, the airline showcases what a children’s amenity kit can achieve.
